Our commitment
ClearSwitch Australia is committed to your satisfaction. Our refund policy is designed to comply with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which provides protections that cannot be excluded or watered down by our own policy.
Australian Consumer Law guarantees
Under the ACL, you are automatically entitled to a remedy if a product:
- Is not of acceptable quality (not safe, durable, or free from defects)
- Does not match its description or our product specifications
- Is not fit for the purpose we stated it would be suitable for
These rights apply regardless of any other conditions in this policy.
Custom cut film — important notice
Because all film orders are custom cut to your specified dimensions, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns on custom cut film. Please measure carefully before ordering. If you are unsure of your measurements, contact us before placing your order.
We strongly recommend ordering a small sample piece first if you are unsure about the product.
What we will refund or replace
We will offer a full refund, replacement, or store credit if:
- The film is faulty or defective (e.g., does not switch, has manufacturing defects, significant haze)
- The film was cut to incorrect dimensions by our supplier (i.e., not matching what you ordered)
- The product was damaged in transit
- The product is not as described on our website
What we cannot refund
We cannot offer refunds for:
- Change of mind on custom cut film orders
- Incorrect measurements provided by the customer
- Damage caused by incorrect installation (e.g., cutting the film, contact with water, improper electrical connection)
- Products purchased more than 30 days ago (except where a major failure becomes apparent later)
- Film applied to unsuitable glass surfaces (textured, curved, externally facing without UV protection)
How to request a refund or return
- Email us at hello@clearswitch.com.au within 30 days of receiving your order
- Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos or a short video showing the fault
- We will respond within 3 business days with next steps
- If a return is required, we will provide a prepaid return label for faulty items — you should not have to pay return postage for faulty goods
Refund processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Processing time may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Damaged in transit
If your order arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and product immediately and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or refund promptly.
Warranty
Our PDLC smart film carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use conditions. This warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, cutting, moisture exposure (unless sealed correctly), or use outside the product's specified operating parameters.
